Pekanbaru (15/7) – Salimah seprovinsi Riau mengikuti Sosialisasi dan Pendidikan Pemilu Serentak 2024 yang ditaja oleh Komisi Pemilihan Umum Provinsi Riau di Hotel Grand Suka pada Sabtu (15/7).
Kegiatan dibuka oleh Nugroho Noto Susanto, S.IP dari KPU Provinsi Riau. Ia menyampaikan bahwa KPU telah melakukan pendataan pemilih tetap untuk pemilu serentak. Dari data diketahui bahwa usia milenial sangat mendominasi.
Selain itu, KPU juga mulai melakukan verifikasi bakal calon untuk pemilihan serentak 14 Februari 2024 mendatang. Pihaknya berharap mendapat masukan dari masyarakat sebagai kontrol bagi bakal calon, tambah Nugroho.
Hadir pada kegiatan ini Drs.Chairul Anwar, Apt, anggota Komisi 2 DPR RI. Ia menyampaikan bahwa pemilu serentak tanggal 14 Februari 2024 menjadi pemilu terbesar di dunia karena dalam satu hari langsung menentukan 5 pilihan. Pilihan terdiri dari pemilu legislatif untuk memilih DPR, DPD, DPRD Provinsi/Kabupaten/Kota, pemilihan Presiden dan Wakil Presiden, serta pemilihan kepala daerah.
Chairul menambahkan, dengan pemilihan ini diharapkan masyarakat dapat menggunakan hak suaranya untuk menentukan Indonesia yang lebih maju.
Pada acara ini, Ketua PW Salimah Riau, Nita Cahyaning.,S.KM,MSi juga turut memberikan penjelasan tentang pentingnya kesadaran kaum perempuan pada pemilihan serentak 14 Februari 2024 mendatang.
“Dengan mengikuti sosialisasi dari KPU ini kita mengetahui hak dan kewajiban sebagai masyarakat dalam menentukan pilihan, aktif mencari informasi mengenai calon yang akan dipilih, serta harus menghormati setiap perbedaan pendapat walau berbeda pilihan. Inilah langkah penting bagi kita kita untuk ini menentukan bangsa Indonesia 5 tahun kedepan,” ujarnya.
Sosialisasi diakhiri dengan pemberian door prize dari KPU kepada peserta yang aktif dan dapat menjawab pertanyaan.
