“Penderita diabetes boleh berpuasa, tetapi harus dengan syarat tertentu, termasuk kondisi gula darah yang terkontrol dan pengawasan dokter,” jelas dokter yang sehari-hari berpraktik di RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung.
Ia menjelaskan, saat berpuasa tubuh mengalami berbagai perubahan, seperti pola tidur yang berubah, asupan cairan berkurang, serta pergeseran waktu makan. Kondisi ini dapat memengaruhi kadar gula darah, baik menyebabkan hipoglikemia (gula darah terlalu rendah) maupun hiperglikemia (terlalu tinggi).
Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Nuraida juga menekankan pentingnya penyesuaian dosis obat dan insulin bagi penderita DM yang ingin berpuasa. Selain itu, pasien dianjurkan untuk melakukan pemantauan gula darah secara mandiri selama menjalankan ibadah puasa.
“Monitor gula darah secara rutin sangat penting. Jika gula darah terlalu rendah atau terlalu tinggi, maka puasa harus segera dibatalkan demi keselamatan,” tegasnya.
Materi juga membahas mengenai contoh menu sehat saat sahur dan berbuka, serta pentingnya menjaga aktivitas fisik yang aman selama puasa. Olahraga ringan tetap dianjurkan, namun tidak berlebihan agar tidak memicu penurunan gula darah secara drastis.
“Intinya, puasa bagi penderita diabetes harus disesuaikan dengan kondisi masing-masing. Jangan memaksakan diri jika berisiko,” tuturnya.
Peserta Salsa sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan yang dikemas dalam suasana edukatif tersebut.
